Executive Chef

At a young age Chef Gus learned what passion is from his grandmother who taught him what it meant to spend all day cooking for family. Although he did not fully understand it then, it stuck with him and helped shape him into the passionate chef that he is today. He started in the family restaurant business located in Seattle where he was fortunate to work with other passionate culinary minded people. Working his way through the kitchen over the years Gus found himself in Gig Harbor at Anthony's as the Executive chef. After his time with Anthony's Gus traveled to the Hawaiian islands where he explored what he describes as beautiful diverse cuisine, culture and people that he will be forever grateful for to have experienced all that it has to offer. Now back in the Northwest he has found his new home here at Carne Aqui as its executive chef.  He is very excited to be cooking and creating using the flavors of South and Latin America that make up our menu.
